Feeling Overwhelmed

acupuncture stress treatmentOur modern day lifestyle means that many people suffer with feelings of overwhelm from trying to fit too many things into too few hours.

We soldier on, pretending that everything is ok, whilst our body tries to control the internal damage this causes. Our organs and circulation system work overtime. What happens if you overwork a machine or an engine? The major parts start to suffer with wear and tear. Eventually something snaps.

Acupuncture can help to relieve the stresses that can cause damage to our health. Calming, relaxing and energising by clearing toxins, whilst educating the patient on improved nutrition and better methods of coping with such feelings.

I am famous for fretting and not being able to switch off. When I visit Lorna, I lie on the table and my mind still tries to think about stuff. So she used the Yin Tang point as pictured above. That small needle empties your mind. Now, I lie back and chill… Being able to feel what it’s like to switch off has assisted my meditation techniques elsewhere. There is no doubt that these treatments have helped me to cope with the stresses of a new business and other emotional upheavals that threatened to overwhelm me. Jo

Despite such positive testimonials from clients, recent ASA rulings mean that we cannot discuss Acupuncture, Stress or any other recognised Western Medical conditions if we cannot link to a proven study.

Here are some links to a series of fact sheets produced by the British Acupuncture Council on the subject.

Moxibustion

moxibustion at essex acupuncture

Warming points through Moxibustion is an integral part of Traditional Chinese Medicine. It utilises a substance called Moxa, which is made from the aged leaves of a herb called mugwort. Like the sun, moxa produces a comforting dry heat helping to eliminate dampness and cold in the body, alleviating Aches and Pains and supporting Aging Joints.

Pain Relief

If you are one of those people who has exhausted the chemical pills and potions of Western Medicine, then Acupuncture could be for you.
There are many patients who have been sent home to grin and bear it and, after many months of putting up with discomfort, the discovery of natural pain relief in the form of an acupuncture treatment can be the most wonderful experience.

Battlefield

battlefield-acupuncture

Originally developed to treat pain in US Air Force pilots who were unable to take medication while flying, this ear acupuncture technique has proved so effective in the relief of pain that many soldiers across the american forces have been trained so they can treat each other on the battlefield.
