I have had acupuncture many times in the past but this was my first session of acupuncture in Southend. Changing from one therapist to another is always a little nervy but as I consistently get benefit from doing so I was keen to try Lorna at the Therapy Life Centre.
If you haven’t tried acupuncture you should. While it can sound odd to the uninitiated, acupuncture has always been a lovely experience for me. Despite the whole needle thing. Of course the needles should really make acupuncture anything but relaxing. But, on the contrary, it really is!
Same old acupuncture, but in Southend!
Lorna was lovely, friendly, easy to chat to and very professional. She took a thorough case history and really put me at ease. So I knew right from the off that acupuncture in Southend would be as beneficial as acupuncture in Birmingham, just with a different accent!
I have had a bit of stomach trouble since overdoing it on the chilli gherkins. They were lovely but my friend’s wife had used double the amount of chilli. Spicy, morish? Yep. I ate the entire jar in pretty much one sitting. My stomach lining was scorched. Mark, my acupuncturist in Birmingham sorted me a while ago. He enabled me to handle even the gentlest of acidic food, like lemon and cider.
However, I have recently been struggling with stomach issues, particularly after a curry. It has been getting worse so I thought acupuncture was a good bet. I do like a curry and life without, is an unbearable thought.
So Lorna did her stuff. She eased the discomfort on the day and since. I had a curry on Sunday and suffered next to no discomfort the following day. It’s a miracle. An acupuncture miracle! All joking aside, there was no appreciable discomfort, so I got a great benefit from my treatment. Hurray!
How was the whole acupuncture in Southend experience?
I loved it. It’s been a while since I’ve been ‘needled’ but I left chilled out and all the better for it. Lorna is clearly an expert, there was no trouble at all with the needles, I felt them but there was no pain.
In my opinion, pain and acupuncture is a misconception. You certainly feel the needles, some insertions more so than others. It is quite amazing how different sites produce different sensations. Never pain as such. It’s nothing like stubbing your toe. The worst is a little ‘zingy’ as my Birmingham acupuncturist would say.
The benefits of acupuncture far outweigh the occasional ‘zingy’ needle. I recommend it. In addition, if you’re unsure about acupuncture in Southend and need help with some issue or other, give Lorna a go. The Therapy Life Centre is a great place with all kinds of therapists offering all sorts of help. And Lorna Withers is the best acupuncturist in Southend!
