Two US authors have undertaken a critical examination of the current state of research on acupuncture as a supporting treatment for IVF. Their paper assesses current published studies in the field, outlining their limitations, detailing the differences between these studies and real world clinical practice, and discussing Chinese medicine theory for improving fertility and its possible scientific mechanisms.  (Acupuncture and in vitro fertilization: critique of the evidence and application to clinical practice.
